NTRC announces a competition for opening of new news television channel

On 28 February 2019 National Television and Radio Council held its regular meeting. At the Meeting discussions on creation of specialized news TV channel were made. As a result of discussions the Council adopted decision on announcement of a competition from March 11, 2019 till April 11, 2019 for opening of new news television channel (48^th channel for SD broadcasting and at 37^th channel package for HD broadcasting in Baku and Apsheron Peninsula).

At the meeting application of the "Media Art" LLC for cable network broadcasting license was also considered. The Council adopted decision on issuing termless license for the operator of cable network which number of its subscribers does not exceed 5000 to the Company "Media Art" LLC.
