Terrestrial HD television broadcasting in Baku city and Absheron peninsula is switching to DVB-T2 standard

On March 16, 2024 from 01.00 a.m., the HD broadcasting of programs of nationwide terrestrial television broadcasters in the territory of Baku city and Absheron peninsula, will be switched to DVB-T2 standard in test mode. Considering the importance of public accessibility to television programs, free-to-air digital terrestrial SD transmission carried out in 48^th TV transmission channel will be ensured to remain in DVB-T standard.

The main goal of the transition is the introduction of better-quality television transmission in the country, taking into account the development and the integration with new technologies of terrestrial television broadcasting in the world.
